Emma Sleep rolled out its new and improved Luxe line on 2 June, with the Emma Luxe ThermoSoft Mattress leading the lineup. It's a cooling-first hybrid mattress that landed right in time for EOFY sales, with 60% off the RRP across both the new and the previous Luxe ranges this June.
What's actually new
The original Luxe line had three tiers: Luxe, Luxe Plus, and Luxe Pro. The refresh keeps that three-model structure but renames each one around what it does.
You now get the Luxe ThermoSoft, Luxe ThermoCool, and Luxe ViscoCool. The naming tells you where each one sits, with the ThermoSoft being the medium-soft cooling option we're focused on here.
The bigger change is what's inside. The new Luxe range has nearly double the foam layers of the old one, with 3.5 to 5cm of memory foam compared to 1.5cm in the previous generation.
Engineered to keep you cool
The ThermoSoft is built around two cooling technologies that work in different ways. The top is a PolarLuxe Cooling Cover that feels cool to the touch and moves warm air outward through a micro-dot knit.
Underneath sits a graphite-infused ThermoSync foam layer that pulls excess heat away from your body while you sleep.
So instead of one cooling feature doing all the work, you get passive temperature regulation built into multiple layers. That matters most in summer, or for anyone who runs hot and wakes up sweaty.
Designed for uninterrupted comfort
Below the cooling layers, a 3.5cm softer Visco foam contours around your shoulders and hips. It's the layer that gives the ThermoSoft its medium-soft feel without letting you sink too far.
Under that, a 7-zone pocket spring core handles support, with foam-encased edges so you don't roll off when you sit on the side. The old Luxe used an edge-to-edge spring core that tended to feel less stable around the perimeter.
The pocket springs also cut motion transfer, which matters if you share a bed with a partner who shifts around through the night.
How it compares to the old Luxe
The old Luxe line was bouncier, with taller springs (19.5cm) and less foam. The new Luxe flips that ratio: shorter springs (12cm) and more memory foam, giving it a more cradling, hugging feel.
You also get a foam-encased hybrid build instead of the older edge-to-edge spring core, and a thicker cool-touch cover instead of a standard fabric one.
For EOFY, the old Luxe Pro is going for $969 (down from $2,439) and the Luxe Plus is $839 (down from $2,119). Worth knowing that the new ThermoSoft at $789 is actually the cheapest of the three, despite being the most recently engineered.

Should you go ThermoSoft, ThermoCool, or ViscoCool?
All three sit at 26cm tall, but the foam stack differs. The ThermoSoft uses 3cm of ThermoSync cooling foam over 3.5cm of softer Visco foam, which is what gives it that medium-soft feel.
The ThermoCool keeps the same 3cm cooling layer but swaps the second layer for a firmer MemoryAdapt foam. The ViscoCool dials back the cooling layer to 1.5cm and increases the MemoryAdapt foam to 5cm, leaning hard into deep contouring.
If you sleep hot and prefer a softer feel, the ThermoSoft is the one to look at. If you want maximum cooling with a firmer feel, go ThermoCool. If contouring matters more than cooling, the ViscoCool is built for that.
For most Australian sleepers heading into summer, the ThermoSoft hits the right balance between cooling and pressure relief.
