NutriBullet Range Explained: Mega Pack vs Select vs Combo vs Ultra

The Blender Combo 1200 is the one to buy if you want a NutriBullet that is also a real blender: it adds a 1.8-litre jug to the usual cups for around $169, which is the only model in the range that handles a family batch. The Mega Pack at under $100 is the cheapest way in and the second-most-reviewed blender on the shelf. The Select is the volume seller. The Ultra is the one with the good blade and the long blade warranty.

All four run 1000 or 1200 watts and all four carry a one-year machine warranty, which is the range's weak point.

Mega Pack

The original idea at its cheapest: a 1000-watt base, two 700ml tall cups, a 500ml short cup, an extractor blade and a milling blade for grinding coffee and spices. Push the cup down to blend, lift to stop.

There is no speed control at all, and no pitcher. Owners rate it 4.8 from more than 500 reviews, which for a sub-$100 appliance is unusual.

Select 1200W

The best seller. 1200 watts, four settings, a 900ml pitcher plus 590 and 700ml travel cups, and a one-minute automatic shut-off so you cannot cook the motor. Owners rate it 4.7 from more than 630 reviews, the largest pool of any blender here.

The 900ml pitcher is still a personal-sized vessel; this is not a family blender.

Blender Combo 1200

The only NutriBullet with a proper jug: 1.8 litres with a tamper, plus 500, 700 and 900ml cups, five settings and everything except the blade in the dishwasher. This is the model that competes with a conventional blender rather than with a personal one.

It is 410mm wide, the largest footprint in the range.

Ultra 1200

The upmarket personal blender: a titanium-coated rapid extractor blade with a five-year blade warranty, touch controls, Tritan Renew recycled cups and a 140mm square footprint, the smallest here.

Only two settings, automated or pulse, and the largest cup is 700ml, so it does less than the cheaper Select in exchange for a better blade and a smaller base.

FAQs

Do the cups from one model fit another?

Cups within the NutriBullet range mostly share the standard thread, but the Ultra's rapid extractor blade and the Combo's jug are model-specific. Check the part number before buying replacements.

Is 1200 watts much better than 1000?

Marginally. Blade sharpness, cup fill level and how long you blend matter more. The Mega Pack at 1000 watts rates as highly as the 1200-watt models.

Can I grind coffee in a NutriBullet?

Only with the milling blade, which comes with the Mega Pack. It produces an uneven grind suitable for plunger coffee at best, not espresso.
