The MyLock 644D overlocker combines essential features for simple overlocking with a handy needle threader, thread cutter and differential feed system of two feed dogs.
The MyLock 644D offers a variety of features designed to make it the easiest overlock machine to use. For example, the rolled hem converter eliminates the need to change the needle plate, foot, or tension setting when hemming.

Janome MyLock 744D
The MyLock 744D is an advanced overlocker with 2 needles and 2, 3 or 4 thread overlock stitching. It features a differential feed ratio that is adjustable from 0.5 to 2.25 and exceptional control for handling all types of fabrics and for creating special effects.
With colour-coded thread guides and a self-threading lower looper, it’s very easy to thread the Janome 744D. Just flip the switch and the lower looper is threaded. The guide is automatically returned to its normal position when you turn the balance wheel.

Free arm
The main difference between the Janome 644D and 744D is that the 744D has a free-arm.
A free arm sewing machine is one where the bed of the sewing machine can be raised so that it’s not connected to the base of the machine.
The free arm is used when sewing fabric is round, so a tube of fabric, like a sleeve, can be slid over the free arm.
It makes it easier to guide the fabric under the needle, and allows you to sew without catching other parts of your garment.
Keep in mind that a free-arm is not critical. Anything that you can sew with a free arm can also be sewn with a flatbed sewing machine.
