The Qrevo Edge C vacuums and mops, and its dock does nearly all the upkeep: it washes the mops in water up to 75°C, dries them with warm air, refills the robot's water tank and empties the dust into a bag that Roborock says holds up to 65 days' worth. The FlexiArm side brush and edge mopping reach closer to skirting boards and chair legs, and the battery lasts up to 240 minutes. It works with Google Assistant, Alexa and Apple HomeKit, and carries a two-year warranty.
Owner reviews at The Good Guys are strongly positive, and none of the recent ones raises a problem. The dock uses dust bags, which are an ongoing cost, and it is 52cm tall.

2. Best Budget: TP-Link Tapo RV20 Max Plus
The Tapo RV20 Max Plus is the cheapest self-emptying robot here. The Good Guys lists a 3 litre sealed bag in the dock, an 83mm-tall robot that reaches under beds and sofas, HEPA H11 filtration and a 55 dBA noise level. It vacuums and mops in one pass, and the Tapo app sets schedules and no-go zones.
Owners like it for the price. The complaint that comes up is the robot getting jammed, and the warranty is one year.

3. Best Value: Ecovacs Deebot N20 Pro Plus

Its mop is a washable pad rather than one the dock cleans. One owner found it slow to map a unit properly and poor at reaching corners.

The robot uses LiDAR and an RGB camera to navigate, has DuoSpiral anti-tangle brushes and a corner-reaching side brush, and quotes 20,000Pa of suction and up to 180 minutes of run time.
Owner reviews at The Good Guys are positive. Its one-year warranty is the shortest among the robots here whose docks wash mops.

At 81mm, the T50 Pro Omni is the lowest robot here, so it cleans further under beds and couches. Its station empties into a 3 litre bag, washes the mops in hot water and dries them with hot air, and it lifts its mops over low-pile rugs, according to its listing. It has a two-year warranty.
The complaint from one owner at The Good Guys is that it tries too hard to climb furniture legs and uneven mats, sometimes losing its brush or mop.

How to pick a robot vacuum
The dock. A self-emptying dock is the feature that saves the most effort. Mop-washing stations cost more, and are worth it only if the robot mops regularly.
Height. Measure the gap under your lowest bed or sofa. The lowest robots here are the T50 Pro Omni at 81mm and the Tapo at 83mm.
Warranty. It runs from one to three years among the models here. Dreame's L50 Ultra and Aqua10 Roller come with three years.

Are robot vacuums worth it?
For keeping floors clean day to day, yes. A self-emptying model needs its dust bag changed now and then, rather than its bin emptied after every run. It will not replace a stick vacuum for stairs, furniture and spills.
Do robot vacuums work on carpet?
All six are listed for carpet as well as hard floors. The T50 Pro Omni lifts its mops over low-pile rugs to keep them dry.
